Despite dominant performances by
Mary Edman and
Katie Patterson on Tuesday, the Colorado College women saw their modest two-match winning streak come to an end.
The Tigers dropped a 6-3 decision to the University of Puget Sound on the final day of their spring-break trip to Orlando, Fla., as Edman and Patterson accounted for all three victories at No. 1 and 2 singles as well as No. 1 doubles.
"Mary and Katie did an outstanding job today in their matches," said head coach Todd Doebler. "They competed really well and played at a high level for us at the top spots."
Both Edman and Patterson won their singles competition in straight sets. They had a tougher time in doubles, finally prevailing with a 9-8 (7-2) verdict.
CC finished 3-2 in Florida while improving to 3-5 overall for the 2012-13 season.
