Weekly Release No. 3 >Colorado College kicks off a four-game home stand this week when Marquette University, the University of New Mexico and Weber State University descend upon Stewart Field for the 2014 CC Invitational.

The four-team tournament begins with Marquette facing off with New Mexico on Friday at 1 p.m., while the Tigers play host to Weber State in the second game at 4 p.m. On Sunday, the Lobos and Wildcats tangle at 10:30 a.m., followed by CC and the Golden Eagles at 1:30 p.m.

Colorado College will carry a 1-1-1 record into Friday's encounter with WSU after playing Colgate to a scoreless draw last Saturday night in Hamilton, N.Y. The hosts also will take a 15-match home unbeaten streak (14-0-1) into the game against Weber State.

The Wildcats, who are playing on the road for the first time on Friday, improved to 2-1 with home-field victories against the University of Nebraska-Omaha (3-1) and the University of Wyoming (2-1 in overtime) last week..

Marquette slipped to 1-3 with losses at the University of Minnesota (1-0) and at home against the University of Nebraska (3-2). The Golden Eagles are 0-1 on the road. New Mexico plays its first game of the season on Friday against Marquette.

Junior midfielder
Sarah Schweiss scored four of the Tigers' five goals this season and continues to lead the Mountain West in goals and points (8). Senior forward
Rachel Herron is second on the team with three points. CC has outshot its opponents 53-31 and has a 16-12 edge in corner kicks.

Freshman
Rowan Frederiksen has played all 290 minutes in goal and now ranks fifth in the conference with a .737 saves percentage and eighth with a 1.55 goals-against average.

In addition to Frederiksen, two other first-year Tigers have been making an impact in the defensive zone.
Anne-Sophie Lapointe has started all three games and played all but two minutes.
Ali Basom moved into the lineup during halftime of the 3-2 victory over Denver and has been there ever since. In fact, since Basom became part of the defensive scheme, Colorado College has not allowed a goal in 155 minutes.

Regardless of whether Colorado College plays at Stewart Field (grass) or Washburn Field (turf), the Tigers have enjoyed a significant advantage when playing at an elevation of 6,035 feet. With its 1-0-0 mark at home this season, CC has improved to 231-39-25 (.825) in 295 all-time matches on its own campus. That includes a 72-10-12 mark (.830) at the two venues during head coach
Geoff Bennett's reign as head coach.

The Tigers conclude their four-game home stand by playing host to Oakland University on Friday, Sept. 12, and Central Michigan University on Sunday, Sept. 14. Friday's tussle with the Chippewas is CC's only game scheduled under the lights on Washburn Field.
