The Colorado College women's tennis team rolled to a 5-0 victory over Austin College Friday in the quarterfinals of the 2015 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championships in Georgetown, Texas.
 
CC, the No. 3-seed in the tournament, will face second-seed Schreiner University in the semifinals on Saturday, April 25 at 9 a.m. (CT). The Tigers dropped a 5-4 decision to Schreiner last Saturday during the final weekend of the regular season.
 
Following a three-hour delay due to a rainstorm, the Tigers (8-8) jumped out to a commanding 3-0 lead by sweeping the doubles matches. Senior Mary Edman and freshman Fiona Cerf improved to 13-3 this season at the No. 1 position with an 8-3 victory over Megan White and Grace Ortiz, while senior Maggie Harwood and sophomore Maddie Cahill-Sanidas followed suit with an 8-5 victory over Megan Green and Kate Willis at No. 2. Freshmen Natalia Dellavalle and Anna Smith completed the sweep with an 8-6 triumph over Katie Barber and Caryle Lide at No. 3.
 
Edman made it 4-0 with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Willis at No. 2 singles and Cerf clinched the match with a 6-1, 6-4 win over White at the top spot. The other matches were pulled off the court at that time.
 
"We really pulled it together in doubles, which put us in a great position going into singles," CC head coach Anthony Weber said. "Mary frustrated her opponent with smart points and kept her off balance and out of rhythm. Fiona continued to use a big forehand and serve to close out her match."
