The Colorado College men's cross country team finished sixth at its own CC Invitational on a picture-perfect Saturday morning at Monument Valley Park.
 
Senior Jacob Rothman led the Tigers with a 62^nd-place finish overall in a time of 28 minutes and 29 seconds for the 8k course, easily his best time ever at the CC meet. Sophomore Ethan Holland followed in 68^th place with a time of 28.39.
 
Junior Conor Terhune, running his first race of the season after recovering from an injury, finiahed in 79^th place in 29:19, followed by senior Tucker Hampson (81^st / 29:31) and sophomores Alex Peebles-Capin (98^th / 30:32), Ben Moscona-Remnitz (99^th / 30:32) and Cole Thompson (102^nd / 30:38).
 
"Jacob had an outstanding race today," head coach Ted Castaneda said. "Ethan had an ankle problem earlier in the week but it didn't bother him today. We were hoping he would be one of our top five runners and he finished second on the team today. It was also nice to get our captain Conor Terhune back as his injury is clearing up just in time for "hammer time" in October."
 
Colorado School of Mines captured the team title with 24 points, followed by CSU-Pueblo and Adams State, both with 65 points, and Regis University with 144. Nathanael Williams and Marty Andrie of Mines finished first and second, respectively
