After scoring three of Colorado College's five goals in a split with Boston College and New Hampshire, freshman forward
Nick Halloran was named the Bauer NCHC Rookie of the Week by the National Collegiate Hockey Conference.
Â
All three of his goals came on the power play. He scored the team's only goal in a 4-1 loss to BC on Friday, then scored twice, including the game-winner, in the 4-3 victory over UNH on Saturday.
Â
Halloran, who leads the team with four goals, scored early in the second period Saturday to give the Tigers a 3-1 lead with a nasty wrist shot from the top of the left circle that went top shelf on UNH goalie Danny Tirone. He then duplicated the goal at the 4:33 mark of the third period that produced the final goal of the game and his first career game-winner.
Â
The Draper, Utah, product put 13 shots on goal in the two games, including a career-high eight in the win at UNH.
Â
The Tigers are idle this weekend before travelling before opening NCHC play with a two-game series against Nebraska-Omaha, Nov. 4-5, in Omaha.
