Lily Benjamin set career highs with five goals and seven points as the Colorado College women's lacrosse team continue to fire on all cylinders and roared to a 20-1 victory over Southwestern University on Sunday morning at Stewart Field.

CC, which improved to 2-0, reached the 20-goal mark for the fifth game in a row dating back to the last three contests of the 2015 campaign.

The Tigers also got six points from sophomore attacker
Steph Kelly, as well as junior midfielders
Mary Taussig and
Sadie Cole.

Kelly struck for three of her four goals during the first half when CC raced to a 7-0 lead in a little more than seven minutes.

Goals by Kelly, Cole and Benjamin in a span of 61 seconds gave Colorado College a 10-goal advantage with 17:51 to play in the first half.
Cole scored twice and added three assists during the first 30 minutes.

Junior attacker Kaitlyn Campbell put the Pirates on the board when she found the net on a free-position shot with 14:21 remaining before the break.

Taussig scored twice and set up one more tally in the second half when the Tigers outscored Southwestern, 8-0.

Colorado College recorded a 38-8 advantage in total shots and a 26-13 edge in ground balls. The Tigers also won 18 of 23 draw controls.

Martha Smith made a pair of saves while going the distance between the pipes.

Natalie Shishido led CC with four ground balls apiece. Sophomore defender
Jasmine Wallack caused a pair of turnovers.

Kelly grabbed a game-high seven draw controls, while Taussig finished with five.

Junior goaltender Jordan Little stopped eight shots for the Pirates, who slipped to 5-2.

Sophomore midfielder Allison Cook had three ground balls and forced one turnover.

Colorado College will have little time to enjoy the victory. The Tigers are back in action on Monday afternoon when they play host to the United States Coast Guard Academy at 4 p.m. on Stewart Field.
