The Colorado College women's tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision to Southwestern University Thursday evening in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference opener.
The Tigers started strong, winning at the top two doubles spots. After CC's No. 1 team of sophomore

Kendal McGinnis defeated Anna Schneemann and Emilie Moeller, 8-1, Southwestern won the No. 3 match as Nicole Wilson and Maranda Kahl downed junior

Simone Hall put the Tigers ahead 2-1 by edging Taite Drews-Jones and Jessey Martinez, 8-6.
The Pirates, 16-4 and ranked No. 11 in the NCAA Division III West Region, turned the tables by winning five of the six singles matches. McGinnis posted the lone victory for CC with a 6-4, 6-2 triumph over Julie Swets at the No. 3 position. Hall extended the No. 5 match to three sets before falling to Wilson, 6-1, 3-6, 6-4. Southwestern won the other four matches in straight sets.
The Tigers, 10-8 and ranked No. 15 in the West Region, play Schreiner University on Friday, April 15 in Kerrville, Texas.
