Despite a pair of victories by freshman Jenna McDonald, the Colorado College women's tennis team suffered a 6-3 loss to Fort Hays State Saturday afternoon in Pueblo, Colo.
 
McDonald paired with sophomore Kendal McGinnis to win the No. 1 doubles match for the second straight day, defeating Natalie Lubbers and Lauren Lindell, 8-5. FHSU won the other two matches, including an exciting 9-7 win at the No. 3 spot.
 
McDonald also won at No. 1 singles for the second consecutive match with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Laura Jimenez-Lendinez. Sophomore Annie Zlevor won the No. 4 match, 6-1, 6-1, over Nicole Lubbers.
 
"We are still knocking off some rust in doubles," head coach Anthony Weber said. "We were a bit more consistent in singles today but just can't string points together yet." 
 
The Tigers travel to Denver next weekend for the Metro State Invitational, Sept. 17-18.
