Box Score The ninth-ranked Whitworth University men's basketball team utilized torrid three-point shooting to record an 85-73 victory over Colorado College on Sunday afternoon at the Whitworth Fieldhouse.
The Pirates, who improved to 8-0, shot 40 percent from behind the arc and hit 19 of 23 free throws to prevent CC from establishing any prolonged momentum. Seven Whitworth players made at least one three-pointer.
After trailing by as many as 20 points midway through the second half, the Tigers cut its deficit to 73-59 on an
Eric Houska layup with 6:23 to go. However, the Pirates answered with seven straight points to regain control.
Colorado College pulled to within 13 points when senior winger
Ryan Young dialed long distance with 2:18 to play, but that was as close the Tigers would get until the final minute.

CC outscored Whitworth, 9-4, during the final 3:15 to pull to within 41-33 after 20 minutes.
