The Colorado College women's tennis team its first victory of the spring season Saturday with a 7-2 win over Hastings College at Burghart Courts in Colorado Springs.

The Tigers jumped out to an early 2-1 lead by winning at the Nos. 2 and 3 doubles matches. Sophomores
Annie Zlevor and
Simone Hall took the No. 2 match, 8-6, over Alexa and Bre Obermier, while senior
Maddie Cahill-Sanidas and sophomore
Madison Doerre defeated Sarah Knight and Bailey Christy, 8-2, at the No. 3 position.

Zlevor led CC to five singles wins with a 6-0, 6-0 rout of Christy at the No. 3 spot.

"Annie played a great match today," head coach
Anthony Weber said. "She had great margin of error with her ground strokes and played a smart transition game."

Cahill-Sanidas (No. 4), Hall (No. 5) and freshman
Morgan Smith (No. 6) each won in straight sets while Doerre pulled out a 6-3m 1-6, 1-0(3) victory over Madison Fortunato at the No. 2 position.

"Good things happen when we combine better decisions with confidence," Weber said.

The Tigers (2-5) open their spring break trip on Friday, March 17 at Willamette University in Salem, Ore.
