The Colorado College women's tennis team opened it 2017 spring break trip with a 9-0 victory over Willamette University Friday afternoon in Salem, Ore.

The Tigers (3-5) swept all three doubles to jump out to a 3-0 lead. Sophomore

Annie Zlevor downed Hannah Andres and Noemi Cruz-Cruz, 8-2, at No. 3.

CC kept up the momentum in singles, winning the Nos. 2-6 matches in straight sets, while James pulled out an exciting three-setter at the top spot. After splitting the first two sets with Smith, James hung on to win the super-tiebreak, 11-9.

"The girls did a great job on our first day of playing at sea level," head coach
Anthony Weber said. "The court opens up quite a bit and the adjustment to footwork is tricky, but we made it work. Caroline fought like heck to pull out the win and I was really proud of her effort." Â

The Tigers take on Linfield College on Saturday, March 18 in McMinnville, Ore.
