The Colorado College women's tennis team improved to 2-1 on its spring break trip and 4-6 overall with a hard-fought 5-4 victory over Pacific University Sunday in Forest Grove, Ore.

The Tigers took an important 2-1 lead after the three doubles matches. Freshmen
Jenna McDonald and
Caroline James took the No. 1 match with an 8-2 victory over Danielle du Plooy and Sophia Nishimura, while senior
Maddie Cahill-Sanidas and sophomore
Madison Doerre easily handled Mai Kobayashi and Marissa Hayashi, 8-0, at No. 3. The duo of sophomores
Annie Zlevor and
Simone Hall barely lost the No. 2 match, 9-7, to Kaitlyn Lomartire and Johanna Wilson.

In singles play, Pacific won the first three matches, two of them in straight sets. Doerre won the first set against Chantelle Baclay, but lost the last two sets, 6-3, 6-1, at the No. 3 position. The Tigers rallied to capture the Nos. 4-6 contests and win the team match.

Zlevor defeated Nishimura, 6-3, 4-6, 6-2, at the No. 4 position, while Cahill-Sanidas pulled out a 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 victory over Hayashi at the No. 5 spot. Hall then clinched the match for CC with a 7-6, 7-6 triumph over Johanna Wilson at No. 6.

The Tigers will play for the fourth time in as many days on Monday, March 20 at George Fox University in Newberg, Ore.
