Despite winning all three doubles matches, the Colorado College women's tennis team could not keep the momentum in singles and dropped a 5-4 decision to Arizona Christian University Sunday morning in Colorado Springs.

CC jumped out to an early 3-0 lead by sweeping the three doubles matches. Freshmen
Jenna McDonald and
Caroline James got things started with a 6-3 victory over Tia Okano and Mikayla Morgan at the No. 1 position, while sophomores
Simone Hall and
Annie Zlevor defeated Melanie Dreux and Jayci Kelley, 6-4, at No. 3. Senior
Maddie Cahill-Sanidas and sophomore
Madison Doerre completed the sweep with a 6-5 victory over Autria Compton and Elizabeth Kelley, winning the tiebreak, 7-3.

The Tigers (5-9) lost at the top five singles spots, including James falling to Morgan, 7-6(4), 0-6, 1-0(7), at the No. 1 position. Arizona Christian won the Nos. 2-5 matches in straight sets.

Hall posted CC's lone singles win by defeating Jayci Kelley, 6-0, 4-6, 1-0(7) at the No. 6 spot.

The Tigers return to action on Thursday, April 13 against CSU-Pueblo. The match is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m., at City Park in Pueblo, Colo.
