The Colorado College women's tennis team won all three doubles matches then held on during singles to capture a thrilling 5-4 victory over Austin College Friday night in San Antonio, Texas.
 
The Tigers' No. 3 doubles team of senior Maddie Cahill-Sanidas and sophomore Madison Doerre led things off with an 8-4 victory over Anamariia Kheveli and Katie Seibert at the No. 3 position, while sophomores Annie Zlevor and Simone Hall downed Anna Sergiovanni and Carlye Lide, 8-6, at No. 2. Freshmen Jenna McDonald and Caroline James rallied from a 7-4 deficit at the No. 1 spot to defeat Grace Ortiz and Kirsten Weber­­, 9-8, winning the tiebreak 7-5.   
 
In singles, Austin College took four of the six matches, even though the Tigers won the first set in five of them. Weber defeated McDonald, 6-7(8), 6-4, 1-0(6) in an exciting match at the No. 1 position, while Anna Sergiovanni beat James, 2-6, 6-4, 6-0 at No. 2. Magan Green also won a three-setter, downing Cahill-Sanidas, 2-6, 6-4, 1-0(11) at No. 5.
 
Colorado College won the team match as Zlevor and Hall each won in straight sets. Zlevor won the No. 4 match, 6-4, 6-4, over Seibert, while Hall took a 6-4, 6-0 decision over Kheveli at No. 6.
 
The Tigers (7-10) return to action on Saturday, April 22, against Trinity University in San Antonio, beginning at 10 a.m.
