Box Score The injury-plagued Colorado College men's basketball turned in a gutsy performance on Sunday afternoon, but ultimately came up short in its bid to defeat Centenary College.
Senior guard Travion Kirkendoll hit a three-pointer from the left corner with 18 seconds to play as the Gents survived a frantic final 10 seconds to escape Reid Arena with a 58-55 victory.
The Tigers pulled to within 56-55 when senior guard
Eric Houska sank a pair of free throws with 8.1 seconds remaining, but after Cedric Harris missed the front end of a one-and-one a second later, the ball slipped through the hands of two CC players.
Centenary senior guard Dyllon Weaver hit a pair of free throws with two seconds to go and Houska's desperation three from half court was off the mark.

Junior guard
Edmund Pendleton, who missed Friday's win over Austin College with flu-like symptoms, hit a pair of clutch three-pointers, including one that leveled the score at 53-53.
Houska led the Tigers with 15 points and cracked the top 15 on the program's all-time scoring list. He climbed past David Schroeder (1984-88), Dave Cortez (1983-86) and John Sacha (1983-87) into 14th place with 1,129 points.

Junior guard Treylan Matthews connected on three shots from behind the arc and finished with 13 points for the Gents.
Centenary, which improved to 9-6 overall and 3-2 in the conference, got 10 points from Harris.
The Gents took their largest lead at 49-40 when junior forward Mitchell Tarantola completed a three-point play.
In a low-scoring first half, Centenary took a 21-13 lead when freshman guard Raylon Hardy scored on a layup with 3:39 remaining, but CC hit three treys during the final 2:53 and drew even when Pendleton connected from the left corner with a fraction over three seconds on the clock.
The teams play again on Saturday, Feb. 3, in Shreveport.
Colorado College wraps up its four-game home stand next week when Southwestern University and Texas Lutheran University visit Reid Arena on Friday and Sunday, respectively.
