Following the script from the Colorado College men's tennis team earlier in the day, the CC women's team blanked Texas Lutheran University, 5-0, Friday afternoon at the Country Club of Woodmoor to advance to the semifinals of the 2018 SCAC Championships.
 
The Tigers, seeded fourth in the tournament, jumped all over the sixth-seeded Bulldogs early by winning all three doubles matches with relative ease. Juniors Madison Doerre and Simone Hall started things off with an 8-1 victory over M.P. Hubert and Joni Baxley at the No 3 position. Fellow junior Annie Zlevor and sophomore Caroline James followed suit with an 8-2 win at No. 2, and junior Allie Burak and sophomore Jenna McDonald completed the sweep with an 8-4 triumph over Alli McLain and Madison Dyer at the top spot.
 
In singles, the Tigers (10-10) kept the momentum, with Burak defeating McLain, 6-2, 6-2, at the No. 1 position and freshman Tess Rubin beating Megan Ingram, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 3 to clinch the team match. McDonald and James were winning handily at No. 2 and No. 4, respectively, when their matches were pulled.
 
The Tigers will face top–seeded Trinity University on Saturday beginning at 1:30 p.m., at Lifetime Fitness in Colorado Springs.
