The Colorado College women's tennis team wrapped up its season this weekend with a fourth-place finish at the 2018 SCAC Championships. The Tigers fell in the third-place match, 5-4, to Austin College Sunday afternoon at Memorial Park in Colorado Springs.

The fourth-seeded Tigers jumped out to an early 2-1 lead with wins at the top two doubles spots. Junior
Allie Burak and sophomore
Jenna McDonald won at the No. 1 position, defeating Melody Duong and Grace Ortiz, 8-5. Junior
Annie Zlevor and sophomore
Caroline James followed suit at No. 2 with an 8-4 victory over Anna Sergiovanni and Diana Caravajalino.

Austin College, seeded third, took a 3-2 lead with victories at No. 6 and No. 3 singles, but James evened things up by defeating Ortiz, 6-3, 6-3, at No. 4. After Duong beat Burak, 7-5, 6-2, at the top spot to give Austin a 4-3 advantage, Zlevor completed an impressive comeback at the No. 5 spot to beat Katie Seibert, 4-6, 6-1, 6-3. However, just moments later, Caravajalino clinched the match for Austin College with a 6-0, 3-6, 6-2 victory over McDonald at No. 2.

The Tigers finished the season with a 10-12 record and did not have any seniors on the '17-18 roster. Â Â
