Fresh off of a pair of impressive victories in the first two games of the Colorado Cup, the Colorado College women's soccer team kicks off its eight-game home schedule on Friday, Aug. 24, when Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi visits Stewart Field. The game kicks at 3 p.m. MT.

Colorado College enters Friday's contest with a 2-0-0 record after winning a pair of Colorado Cup games on the road last week. The Tigers opened the season with a 2-1 come-from-behind victory at the University of Northern College on Thursday, Aug. 16, and then defeated the University of Denver, 2-0, on Sunday, Aug. 19, at Prentup Field on the campus of the University of Colorado in Boulder.

A&M-Corpus Christ is playing its season first official game of the year on Friday. In its two exhibition games, the Islanders dropped a 3-0 decision at No. 17 University of Texas and played the University of Texas-San Antonio to a 1-1 draw in a contest that was called in the 57th minute due to severe weather.

Colorado College averaged 2.0 goals per game and allowed just .50 during its first two contests. Sophomore defender

A&M-Corpus Christi returns seven starters and 15 letterwinners from last year's squad that posted a 6-9-3 overall record. Senior defender Kaitlyn Joy is the leading returning scorer with six points on two goals and two assists a year ago. Sophomore midfielder Mariah Ramon had a team-high three assists.

Sophomore goalkeeper Kyleigh Hall led the Islanders with a 2-3-1 record and was second with a 1.40 GAA and a .818 saves ratio, while senior Abby Flax had a 2-4-0 ledger along with a 1.41 GAA and .714 saves percentage. The Islanders, who were picked to finish eighth in the 2018 Southland Conference Preseason Poll, bolstered its 2018 roster with 14 recruits.

CC plays host to Columbia University on Friday, Aug. 31, at 3 p.m. MT on Stewart Field. The following week, the Tigers travel to the Lone Star State to face Texas A&M on Friday night in College Station, and then Lamar University on Sunday afternoon in Beaumont. Â
