The Colorado College women's tennis team dropped its first two SCAC matches of the season in Georgetown, Texas, falling 9-0 to Southwestern University on Thursday and Austin College on Friday.
 
Sophomore Tess Rubin Nearly pulled off an upset in the No. 1 singles match on Friday, but fell to the nation's 49^th-ranked player, Melody Duong of Austin College, 6-4, 7-6(6).
 
Seniors Annie Zlevor and Simone Hall nearly defeated Duong and her partner Diana Carvajalano, ranked No. 10 in the West Region, but fell in a tiebreaker, 8-7(2).
 
The Tigers (1-13) continue play in the league with a match on Sunday, April 7, against Schreiner University in Kerrville, Texas, beginning at 9 am (CT).
