The Colorado College women's soccer team puts its three-match winning streak on the line this week when Western Michigan University and Army West Point invade Washburn Field for the last of five consecutive home games. The Tigers play host to WMU on Friday, Sept. 6, at 7 p.m., then Army two days later for an 11 a.m. kickoff.
Fans can watch both games for free on the Tiger Sports Network (

Western Michigan brings a 1-2 record into Friday's game after splitting a pair of games last week. The Broncos dropped a 2-1 result to the University of Notre Dame on Friday, but bounced back for a 1-0 victory at the University of Cincinnati on Sunday. WMU is 0-2 on the road this year.
Army will take a 2-1-1 record into its first road contest of the season on Friday night at Air Force. The Black Knights are riding a two-game winning streak after defeating the University at Albany, 3-2, and Long Island University, 2-0, last week.
CC and Western Michigan will meet for the first time on Friday. The Tigers are 2-0 against Army, with both games played in Colorado Springs. Colorado College prevailed 3-0 in 2008 and 2-0 in 2017.

Colorado College is 11-1-1 in its last 13 games at Washburn Field, the program's home away from home. Since splitting a pair of Conference USA games against UTEP in 2009 and 2010, the Tigers are undefeated in their last 10 contests (9-0-1) on Washburn. Some of the more memorable games include the 5-2 win over UTEP that featured a school-record five goals by Brittney Lyman, a 2-1 overtime victory against No. 16 UCF on Oct. 12, 2012, a 2-0 victory over the University of Texas on Sept. 15, 2013, in a game that was played in torrential rain, and a 0-0 draw against Colorado State University in the most recent game on Sept. 24, 2017. Stewart Field, CC's primary pitch, is undergoing a facelift and should be ready for games in early September.
Regardless of whether Colorado College plays on Stewart Field or Washburn Field, the Tigers have enjoyed a significant advantage when playing at an elevation of 6,035 feet. Including its 3-0-0 record at home season, CC now is 258-59-28 (.789) in 346 all-time matches on its own campus. That includes a 98-30-15 mark (.739) at the two venues during Bennett's 16-year reign as head coach. All told, in 361 home matches played in Colorado Springs since the mid-1970s, CC's record now stands at 271-63-28 (.787).
Next week, Colorado College hits the road for the first time this season when the Tigers travel to Urbana-Champaign, Ill., to face the University of Illinois on Sunday, Sept. 15.
