Three School Records Set at Air Force Open

Colorado College junior Camille Weaver set two more school records and Sarah Pokelwaldt set a new standard in the 5K Friday afternoon at the Air Force Collegiate Open.

Weaver, who set new marks in the 60-meter hurdles (twice) and the long jump two weeks ago, broke the school record in the high jump Friday with a winning leap of 5'5.75", surpassing the previous record of 5'5" by Jenna Heerman in 2001, and the triple jump, posting a jump of 37'2.5". The old triple jump record was 35'7.5" by Marlesa Moore in 2003.

Also on Friday, Pokelwaldt and Mary Alice Ewing each posted a seventh-place finish in the 5K and 400-meter dash, respectively. No Tiger runner has ever run the 5K indoors, so Pokelwaldt's time of 21:07.41 is the school standard.

Liza Huschle finished eighth in the 400, as did Claire Tobin in the 5K and Megan Koch in the 800.

Ewing placed ninth in the 200 and Kendall Accetta did the same in the 800.

The Tigers closed out the 2020 indoor season on Friday and will open the spring outdoor season on Saturday, March 7, at the Ed Boitano Invitational in Tacoma, Wash.
