Colorado College junior
Camille Weaver set two more school records and
Sarah Pokelwaldt set a new standard in the 5K Friday afternoon at the Air Force Collegiate Open.
Â
Weaver, who set new marks in the 60-meter hurdles (twice) and the long jump two weeks ago, broke the school record in the high jump Friday with a winning leap of 5'5.75", surpassing the previous record of 5'5" by Jenna Heerman in 2001, and the triple jump, posting a jump of 37'2.5". The old triple jump record was 35'7.5" by Marlesa Moore in 2003.
Â
Also on Friday, Pokelwaldt and
Mary Alice Ewing each posted a seventh-place finish in the 5K and 400-meter dash, respectively. No Tiger runner has ever run the 5K indoors, so Pokelwaldt's time of 21:07.41 is the school standard.
Â
Liza Huschle finished eighth in the 400, as did
Claire Tobin in the 5K and
Megan Koch in the 800.
Â
Ewing placed ninth in the 200 and
Kendall Accetta did the same in the 800.
Â
The Tigers closed out the 2020 indoor season on Friday and will open the spring outdoor season on Saturday, March 7, at the Ed Boitano Invitational in Tacoma, Wash.
