Box Score The Colorado College women's tennis team ran into a buzzsaw Wednesday afternoon at the Burghart Tennis Courts and fell to Dallas Baptist University, 6-1.
 
DBU swept the three doubles matches to take an early 1-0 lead. The best match of the three came at the No. 1 spot, where Kate Dougherty and Sarah Castleberry downed sophomore 
Olivia Dicks and freshman 
Magdalene Gonzales, 6-3.
 
Freshman 
Malia Rivera improved to 2-0 this season in singles play when her opponent, Devon Austin-Canning, retired with Rivera leading 6-5 in the first set.
 
The Lady Patriots captured the other five singles matches, but a couple of them came down to the wire. Freshman Gig Jensen nearly took Adriana Carpenter to three sets before falling, 6-3, 7-6(5) at No. 3, while Dicks dropped a three-setter to Castleberry, 6-2, 4-6, 1-0(6) at the No. 6 position.
 
The Tigers are back in action on Sunday, March 14, against SCAC foe Southwestern University, beginning at 8:30 a.m., at Lifetime Fitness in Colorado Springs.
