The Colorado College men's track and field team opened its 2021 season at the CSU-Pueblo Early Bird Meet Saturday in Pueblo, Colo.

Michael Gorman posted the team's best result finishing sixth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.55 seconds. Fellow senior
Damon Hardwick placed 11
th in the race in 51.46 seconds.

Junior
Josh Fry, the 2020-21 SCAC cross country champion, posted a pair of eighth-place results. He finished the 800 meters in 1:58.92 and the 1,500-metre run in 4:00.95. Junior
Sam Rodriguez placed 11
th in the 800 (2:00.02).

Other top 20 results for the Tigers included sophomore
Leighton Graham (13
th in the discus and 17
th in the discus), freshman
Luke Bleckman (15
th in the long jump) and freshman
James Settles (19
th in the 5K).

"Today was a great way to start the season," interim head coach
Alex Nichols said. "It has been such a long time since these athletes have had the chance set foot at a track meet. That time away created a lot of excitement around this meet and led to some very impressive performances."
