Fry Leads Tigers at Spank Blasing Meet

Junior Josh Fry led the Colorado College men's track and field team Saturday at the CSU-Pueblo Spank Blasing Meet.

Fry battled several Division I and II athletes to finish 11th in the 800-meter (1:56.88) and 1500-meter (3:59.44) races, while senior Michael Gorman posted CC's lone top-10 finish by placing 10th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.18 seconds.

Fry and Gorman joined senior Damon Hardwick and freshman Emerson Worrell on the 4x400-meter relay team that finished ninth with a time of 3:23.59.

Sophomore Max Saliman posted a 20th-place finish in the 800 with a time of 2:04.89, while junior Lucas Cowen finished 23rd and 24th in the 400 and 200, respectively.

"Although it was only seven days since our last meet, today was a great indicator of how this season is progressing for our team," interim head coach Alex Nichols. "Michael Gorman keeps delivering faster and faster times in the 400 and 4x400 relay, while the middle distance runners, Josh Fry and Sam Rodriguez, are showing that they could make some noise at the national level this spring. The results from today just fueled the excitement for what is yet to come this season."

Colorado College returns to action on Friday, April 9 and Saturday, April 10, at the Colorado Mesa Invitational.
