Box Score The Colorado College women's tennis team opened its 2021 season with a convincing 6-1 victory over Division II Colorado State University-Pueblo Sunday afternoon at Pueblo City Park.

The Tigers jumped out to an early 1-0 lead by winning the Nos. 2 and 3 doubles matches, all by freshmen.
Keelie Bennett and
Elizabeth Girian downed Sabrina de la Vega and Kat Ambrose, 8-2, at No. 2, while
Gigi Jensen and
Malia Rivera beat Alyssa Wells and Roma Cordova by the same score at the No. 3 spot.

Girian was the first singles match off as she defeated Vega, 6-0, 6-2, at the No. 4 position. Bennett handled Ambrose, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 2, and Rivera clinched the team victory with a 6-2, 6-1 triumph over Cordova at No. 5.

Jensen defeated Tilly Blasdale, 6-0, 6-2 at No. 3 and sophomore team captain
Olivia Dicks won the No. 6 match, 6-0, 6-2, over Wells.

Fellow freshman
Magdalene Gonzales dropped the No. 1 singles match to Kali Hamilton, 6-1, 6-4.
