CC Releases 2021-22 Hockey Schedule

Colorado College hockey coach Kris Mayotte announced the team's non-conference portion of the 2021-22 schedule today. In addition to the always-tough National Collegiate Hockey Conference slate, which was announced last month, the Tigers have added 10 non-conference games this upcoming season.

The brand new Ed Robson Arena will host the first Tiger hockey games in early October. Following an exhibition game on Saturday, Oct. 2, versus an opponent yet to be determined, CC will play its first-ever regular season games on campus against the defending ECAC Hockey champion, St. Lawrence University, on Oct. 8-9.

"We are really looking forward to this year's non-conference schedule, which gives us a great opportunity to play some of the best programs in the country," Mayotte said. "Starting with the defending ECAC champs for the first-ever regular-season game on campus at Robson Arena. We also have a number of opponents that will be great tests as we go on the road to play three programs that have enjoyed great success in recent years."

Five consecutive road games follow, including a pair at Mayotte's alma mater, Union College, on Oct. 15-16, and individual games at 2021 NCAA Tournament quarterfinalist Boston College (Oct. 22) and Northeastern University (Oct. 23).

The battle for the Pikes Peak Trophy resumes this season with a home-and-home series against Air Force. The Tigers and Falcons will play at Cadet Ice Arena on Oct. 29 and Robson Arena the following night. The final non-conference series of the '21-22 campaign takes place Dec. 17-18 when Arizona State travels to Colorado Springs.

"We are excited to once again play for the Pikes Peak Trophy against Air Force," Mayotte said. "I am also really looking forward to welcoming the country to our wonderful campus for the first time in the history of our program. None of this would be possible if not for the tremendous work of so many. We are incredibly thankful and grateful for everyone who has worked so hard to allow us the chance of playing a full college hockey season once again."

CC will release its 2021-22 television schedule at a later date.
