The Colorado College women's soccer team looks to begin a climb in the Mountain West table when it plays host to the University of Nevada and UNLV this week at Stewart Field. CC squares off with the Wolf Pack on Friday at 7 p.m. MT, then hopes to double down UNLV on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. MT.

Colorado College takes a 1-7-1 record into Friday's match with the Wolf Pack after beginning conference play with a 1-1 tie against Fresno State at home last Friday and dropping a 2-0 result at San Jose State University on Sunday. The Tigers are 1-2-1 at home this season, including an 0-0-1 mark in the Mountain West.
Nevada also is 1-7-1 after falling at Utah State University, 2-1, on Friday night and battling Boise State University to a 0-0 draw on Sunday at home. The Wolf Pack is 0-4-0 on the road this season where it has been outscored 10-1.
UNLV takes a 7-4-0 overall record and 0-2-0 conference mark into Friday's game at Air Force after dropping a pair of 2-0 decisions against Boise State and Utah State at home last week. The Rebels are 2-1-0 on the road this season, including a 2-1 victory at Loyola Marymount University in their non-conference finale on Sept. 19.
Colorado College holds a 5-1-0 lead in the all-time series with Nevada, which began in 2014 when CC joined the Mountain West as an affiliate member in women's soccer. All six games in the series have ended in shutouts, including four by 1-0 scores. The Tigers, who prevailed in each previous game at Stewart Field, won the last three meetings, including the most recent game in 2019, 3-0.
The series between Colorado College and UNLV is all square at 3-3-1. The Tigers are 2-1-1 against the Rebels at Stewart Field, the most recent of which was a 2-1 victory in 2018. The following year, the Rebels scored a 2-1 win in Las Vegas.
CC averaged 0.44 goals and conceded 1.78 during its first nine games. Sophomore forward
Lily Byrne leads the Tigers with two goals and five points, while senior forward
Jacqui Hand is second with three points on a goal and an assist. Senior forward
Kiley Suter is tied for second with a goal and third with two points. Goalkeeper
Taryn Benham, a graduate transfer from Northern Arizona University, has played in all nine games, including eight as the starter, and owns a 1-6-1 record, a 1.44 goals-against average, a .581 saves percentage.
Nevada scores an average of 0.67 goals per outing and concedes 1.89. Freshman forward Trinity Sandridge leads the Wolf Pack with two goals and five points, and owns the team's only game winner. Junior forward Gabby Brown, sophomore defender Maddie Marr, freshman midfielder Caly Ah Soon and freshman forward Ally Little each have
a scored once, while graduate student Hannah Souza has a team-high two assists. Senior Kendal Stovall is 1-3-1 in goal and owns a 1.51 GAA and a .707 saves percentage. Last Sunday, Stovall made eight saves during the 0-0 draw with Boise State University.
UNLV averages 1.73 goals per game while giving up just 1.27. Junior midfielder Marcella Brooks leads the Rebels with eight points in three goals, while junior midfielder Lourdes Bosch is right behind with seven points and two goals and a team-leading three assists. Junior forward Hevani Haung also has three goals, while junior forward Alysa Caso and sophomore forward Nailah Harpring each have a pair. Sophomore Charlotte Brisley is 4-0-0 in goal with a 1.10 GAA and .762 saves ratio, while sophomore Taylor Book is 3-3-0 with a 1.24 GAA and a .759 saves percentage.
Next week, Colorado College travels north on I-25 to visit Colorado State University and the University of Wyoming next week. The Tigers face CSU at 3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 8, and UW at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 10. The following week, CC plays host to Boise State University on Thursday, Oct. 14, and Utah State University on Sunday, Oct. 17.
