Tigers Hit The Road to Utah State, Boise State

TIGERS TRAVEL TO UTAH STATE, BOISE STATE
The Colorado College women's soccer team continues Mountain West matches on the road this weekend. The Tigers play Utah State in Logan, Utah, on Thursday, Oct. 6, at 3 p.m., followed by a contest against Boise State in Boise, Idaho, on Sunday, Oct. 9, beginning at 12 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The Tigers tied San Diego State, 3-3, and defeated New Mexico, 3-0, last week at Stewart Field. On Thursday, Colorado College jumped out to a 3-0 lead over SDSU in the first 26 minutes. Senior Aspen Jeter opened the scoring with her first career goal in the 19th minute. Jeter blasted a free kick from 35 yards out that went past SDSU goalkeeper Alexa Madueno and into the net. Fellow senior Adelaide Gaffney posted her fourth goal of the season to make it 2-0 in the 21st minute. She took a crossing pass from Haley Williams, took a back-foot shot that went off the crossbar, but gathered the rebound and put it past Madueno. Williams notched her team-leading fourth assist on the play. Just five minutes later, it was 3-0 in favor of the Tigers when Brett Tsamasfyros' shot from the top pf the box caromed off the crossbar and went right to Shalom Prince, who knocked it in from the doorstep. The Aztecs fought back with three goals of their own, including the equalizer in the 75th minute ... On Sunday, The Tigers once again produced a 3-0 lead, but this time it stuck. Ally Wakeman had six saves, including three spectacular stops, and Brett Tsamasfyros, Shalom Prince and Lily Byrne scored as CC snapped a seven-match losing skid to the Lobos dating back to Sept. 23, 2016, a 1-0 win in Albuquerque, N.M. It also was the first victory over UNM in Colorado Springs since Oct. 5, 2001. Wakeman, who posted her second career clean sheet, was outstanding for the entire 90 minutes. She made a pair of incredible saves against UNM's prolific scorer, Jadyn Edwards, in the first 24 minutes to keep the match scoreless.
