The Colorado College women's tennis team lost its opening match of the 2023 spring campaign, 7-0, to Division I New Mexico Saturday afternoon at the Garden of the Gods Tennis Club in Colorado Springs.

The Lobos cruised to an early 1-0 lead by sweeping the three doubles matches, losing just one game.

In singles play, UNM cruised to all six victories in straight sets, including a 6-1, 6-1 victory by Sarah O'Connor over
Christina Heffron at the No. 1 spot. Â

The Tigers return to action on Thursday, Feb. 23, against Cal Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, Calif., beginning at 3 pm (MT).
