The Colorado College women's soccer team aims to return to the win column when it hosts San Diego State and New Mexico on Thursday and Sunday. The Tigers have played tremendously at home this season and look to rebound after losses on the road trip to Nevada.
Last Time Out
CC suffered losses against UNLV (2-1) and Nevada (5-0) in its first Mountain West road trip of the year last weekend. The Tigers took a 1-0 lead over the Rebels thanks to an
Alexis Wessler shot and goal in the 10th minute of the match.
It was Wessler's second career goal and first of the season. The Rebels scored two goals later in the second half in the 78th and 86th minute to take the lead and eventually steal the win. The Tigers had 14 shots (five on net), led by
Tyler Rose with three and Wessler's lone goal.
On Sunday, the Tigers ran into Nevada who scores a season-high five goals in its win. CC finished the game with 12 shots led by
Brett Tsamasfyros and
Gracie Huebner with three each. Tsamasfyros and
Finley Schoenbeck both had shots on net.
Goalkeeper
Erika Upson saw her first action of the season and played the entire second half against the Wolfpack.
Tiger Tails
Brett Tsamasfyros leads the team with five goals on the season. The senior also leads the Tigers in shots (25) and shots on goal (11). She had a three-game scoring streak from Sept. 8-26th, highlighted by a hat-trick on Sept. 8th against UC Santa Barbara, the first for CC since 2017.
The Tigers have played excellent at home this year, carrying a 5-1-1 record at Stewart Field. CC has outscored its opponents 13-6 and have evened out on shots on goal 33-33 against its adversaries.

The Raleigh, NC native has played and started in all 13 games this season after playing in all 15 and made nine starts in 2023. Hitt has taken two shots this year but has also helped solidify the Tigers defense that has given up only six goals on home turf.
CC's longest winning streak of the season was three games from Aug. 22-28, with victories over South Dakota State (1-0), Northern Colorado (2-0), and UCCS (4-1). With seven games to go, the Tigers have already outdone their win total from a year ago (three) and have their eyes set on advancing to the Mountain West Tournament by the end of the regular season.
