The Colorado College men's basketball team begins conference play against the University of St. Thomas in Houston, TX. Last season, the Tigers made it to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament Championship game and finished 8-8 in SCAC play.

CC (2-4) looks to get back in the win column and end its four-game losing streak. After starting the season, 2-0, the Tigers have lost four-straight all to formidable opponents including No. 2 WashU and UChicago in the Rhodes Academic All American classic.
The Tigers fell to WashU 69-63 but fought till the very end against the No. 2 ranked team in the nation. Senior
Scott Ruegg scored a season-high 19 points after shooting 5-11 (45.5 percent) from three-point range. He finished with three rebounds and three assists. \

Asher Nofziger led the Tigers with a career-high 32 points and 16 rebounds. The Denver native had one of the most well-rounded games of his career, He went 2-3 from long range, converted six of seven attempts at the free throw line, and racked up a block and a steal defensively.
Leading The Team
Nofziger leads the Tigers and is fourth in the RMAC with 19.2 ppg. The former Cherry Creek High School player has yet to score under 13 points this season and has notched new career-highs in points twice this season.
He also leads the team with 8.5 rebounds per game including grabbing 19 offensive boards this year.
Devin Philio follows with 5.5 rebounds per game and 12.5 points per game. Senior
Scott Ruegg is second on the team with 13.7 ppg and also leads the team with 18 made three-pointers. Ruegg has made three or more three's on four separate occasions this season, including a season-high five against WashU.
Sophomore
Gavin Carter leads all Tigers and is fourth in the conference with 4.3 assists per game.
Scouting The Opposition
St. Thomas enters Saturday with a 6-1 record and is receiving votes in the latest D3hoops.com national poll.
The Celts are 1-1 in the month on December after losing their first game of the season to Mary Hardin-Baylor on Dec. 3. They bounced back with a dominating 88-53 win over East Texas Baptist on Dec. 7.
Andrew Abedo leads UST with 12.4 points per game, 7.3 rebounds per game and 23.1 minutes per game.
Last season, the Tigers got swept in the season series against the Celts, barely losing a 75-72 battle at Reid Arena on Feb. 4, 2024.
