Six Colorado College swimmers competed in the 5K Open Water Championship Sunday morning in Biscayne Beach, Fla.

Lucio Bollettieri qualified for the meet. Participation is limited to current NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA member institutions who meet the specific event qualifying criteria. Student- athletes must have achieved qualifying times after January 1, 2024. Â Â

Davis, Gonzalez and McCracken placed the highest and contributed to the team score. The Tigers placed first in the D3 division, led by Davis, who placed finished in D3 and 75th overall among all three Divisions.

Gonzalez placed seventh in D3 and 76th overall, while McCracken was eighth in D3 and 77
th overall.

"All team members did a great job competing in this event," Head coach
Jen Buffin said. "This was their first collegiate open water championship. It was a great competition against distance swimmers from across the country and this experience will make them better in the pool."Â

Colorado College returns to action at the CC Classic, which begins on Friday, Jan. 17, at Schlessman Natatorium.
