The Colorado College men's swimming & diving team is in fourth place after the first two events of the 2024 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Swimming & Diving Championships at the Garland ISD Natatorium.

The 800-yard freestyle relay finished second to earn all-SCAC honors. The quartet of
Jack Hussin,
Miles Nordling,
Edmund Davis and
Tomas Gonzalez finished with a time of 6:50.73 and collected 34 points. CC's 'B' team of
Step Flanagan,
Tony Saenz,
Caleb Peimann and
Logan Browne placed 10
th for 14 points.

Unfortunately, in the first race of the meet, CC's top 200-yard medley relay team consisting of Peimann,
Collin Ralston,
Eric Uerling and Hussin was disqualified due to a fast relay exchange. The Tigers' 'B' team of
Dax Sherwood,
Jack Higgins, Gonzalez and Flanagan placed 10
th, good for 14 points.

"It was a roller coaster of a night for us," head coach
Anne Goodman James said. "We had so many amazing relay splits, but after a blazing men's medley relay, where all four set personal-bests, we found out that we had been DQ'd. I was really excited for the 800 free relay splits. The men's B relay was phenomenal, with outstanding splits from
Logan Browne and
Tony Saenz, who beat people on our A relay."
The SCAC Championships continue on Thursday with four more events. The preliminaries begin at 9:30 a.m. MT, followed by the finals at 5 p.m. (MT).
