Incoming Netminder Carsen Musser Invited to World Junior Summer Showcase

Colorado College incoming freshman goaltender Carsen Musser is one of 46 players invited by USA Hockey to participate in the World Junior Summer Showcase, set for July 26-August 3 at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Mich.

The World Junior Summer Showcase, which will also include players from Canada, Finland and Sweden, serves as an evaluation for athletes seeking to make their respective national teams for the 2025 IIHF World Junior Championship, which will be held Dec. 26, 2024, through Jan. 5, 2025, in Ottawa, Ontario.

"It is a great honor to be recognized by your country as one of the top players in your birth year and be considered for the U20 World Junior Championships," Colorado College head coach Kris Mayotte said. "I am extremely proud of Carsen on being invited to camp. This will give him even more experience before joining our team in the fall."

Musser, a sixth-round selection by the Arizona Coyotes (now the Utah Hockey Club) in the 2023 NHL Draft, posted a 17-11-2 record with the Madison Capitols of the USHL last season. He finished the regular season second in the USHL with a .905 save percentage and fourth with a 2.74 goals-against average.

A member of the U.S. National Developmental U17 and U18 teams, Musser compiled a 2-0 record with a 0.75 GAA and .947 save percentage in two games for the gold-medal winning Team USA at the 2023 IIHF Under-18 World Championship.

Rising junior goalie Kaidan Mbereko was a member of the 2022 and 2023 U.S. National Junior Teams. Mbereko's classmate, Noah Laba, was also on the '23 team.
