Sophomore  Avery Hickman won a pair of singles matches Friday on day one of the ITA West Regional Tennis Tournament in Claremont, Calif.
 
Hickman won both of her matches in the 'B' flight and will face Brooke Waite of Chapman University in the quarterfinals on Saturday.
 
Sophomore Kala Komanduri and freshman Aspen Young each won her first-round match in the 'A' flight before falling in the round of 16. Komanduri fell to the tournament's second-seed Alisha Chulani of Claremont, 6-2, 6-3, while Young dropped a 6-0, 6-1 decision to top-seeded Angie Zhou of Pomona.
 
In doubles action, Komanduri and Young won two matches and will play Chulani and Ella Brisset, the No. 2 seed, in the quarterfinals on Saturday.
