Wellehan Sets School and Pool Record at CC Classic

The Colorado College swimming and diving teams opened the 26th annual CC Classic on Friday with the 3-meter diving and 1650 freestyle events.
 
The men's team is in first place after Wyatt Wellehan won the diving competition with a new school and pool record of 617.48 points over six dives. Aidan Richter placed second.
 
In the pool, Nathan McCracken placed first in the 1650 with a personal-best time of 16:32 with the altitude adjustment and teammate Carter Hagenauer took second place.
 
On the women's side, Emma Krasemann and Keller Pooley went 1-2 in diving, while Kylie Spalt placed third in the 1650. The Tigers are in second place behind Western State.
 
The Classic continues on Saturday, Jan. 18, with swimming prelims at 9 a.m., 1-meter diving at 1 p.m., and swimming finals at 5 p.m.
