The Colorado College cross country teams once again proved they can achieve excellence in the classroom as well as on the course.
Â
After the men's and women's teams won the SCAC Championship for the fourth consecutive season last fall, each was named a Division III All-Academic Team by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for the 2024 season.
Â
The men's team, which won its sixth straight SCAC team title, produced a grade-point average of 3.77, the sixth-highest among the 197 Division III men's teams that were selected.
Meanwhile, the women's squad, which won its fifth conference title in the last six years and finished a program-best sixth at the NCAA Division III Championships, posted a 3.83 GPA, the 10th-highest among the 221 Division III women's teams on the list.
Â
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.1 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period.
In addition, 11 Tigers were named all-academic athletes by the organization. Seniors

Elliot Singer, juniors
Alison Mueller-Hickler and
Abby Goodfried and sophomore
Charlie Flint were honored from the women's team, while juniors

Â
In order to qualify for all-academic distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-25 percent of their respective regional championship meet.Â
"Both teams had an incredibly successful fall season while maintaining a very high level of academic achievement," head coach
Alex Nichols said. " Very few programs can compete for a top 10 spot at the national championships while also ranking in the top 10 in team GPA. This is an impressive accomplishment and a reflection of their hard work."
