Avery Hickman and Aspen Young advanced to the 'A' singles semifinals and Meredith Waters did the same in the 'B' flight Saturday on the first day of the CC Invitational at Memorial Park.

Hickman won a pair of matches in straight sets, including a 6-3, 6-3, victory over Valentina Gonzalez of Colorado Mesa in the quarterfinals, while Young received a bye in the first round and downed Delia Maier of Colorado Mesa, 6-2, 7-5, in the quarters.

Meanwhile, Waters beat Nadia Alden of Colorado Mesa, 6-4, 6-3, in the quarterfinals of the 'B' flight after receiving a first-round bye.

The CC Invitational wraps up on Sunday, Sept. 7, beginning at 8:15 a.m.
