Tigers Head To Texas For SCAC Road Trip

Colorado College heads to Texas for a pair of Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference road games this weekend, opening the trip Friday, Jan. 30 at Concordia University (TX) at 4:30 p.m. MT before closing the weekend Saturday, Jan. 31 at Texas Lutheran at 3 p.m. MT. The Tigers enter the road swing 7–10 overall and 5–3 in SCAC play, looking to build on recent momentum in conference action.

Last Time Out
CC is coming off a decisive home victory over Schreiner on Jan. 25, highlighted by a milestone performance from senior Asher Nofziger, who eclipsed the 1,000-career point mark in the win. Nofziger led the Tigers with 22 points and eight rebounds, while junior Ty Hendler and freshman Ryan Kranz provided additional scoring punch as CC pulled away in the second half to secure the conference victory.

At the Helm
Nofziger paces the Tigers on the season at 15.5 points and 8.4 rebounds per game while shooting 44.8 percent from the field. Hendler follows at 13.6 points per contest, and Kranz has emerged as one of the conference's top perimeter threats with 40 made three-pointers while connecting at a 44.9 percent clip from beyond the arc. Junior Gavin Carter directs the offense, leading the team with 5.3 assists per game, while the Tigers average 75.6 points and 40.4 rebounds per contest as a unit.

Scouting the Opposition
Concordia (TX) enters Friday's matchup with one of the most potent offenses in the SCAC, averaging better than 100 points per game. The Tornadoes feature multiple double-figure scorers, led by Joey Ramirez (24.7 ppg) and Anariss Brandon (18.9 ppg), with Aaron San Miguel adding a strong perimeter presence after knocking down 40 three-pointers on the season. Concordia pushes the pace, shoots efficiently from the field, and looks to pressure opponents into turnovers.

Texas Lutheran, Saturday's opponent, is a balanced group that plays at an up-tempo pace while shooting efficiently from both the floor and the three-point line. The Bulldogs average more than 83 points per game and are led offensively by Mason Wallace, Semaj Edwards, and Teddy Tapken, each scoring in double figures. TLU also moves the ball well, averaging over 16 assists per contest, and will look to control tempo on its home floor.
