No. 24 Tigers Set To Begin WIAC Play At CSB & Hamline

No. 24 Colorado College begins WIAC play this weekend with a pair of road games, starting Friday, March 27 at the College of St. Benedict before traveling to face Hamline on Saturday, March 28.

Last Time Out
Colorado College is coming off a 20-1 loss at No. 3 Tufts on March 22. The Tigers' lone goal came from junior Grace Bean, with freshman Maddie Jenks recording the assist. CC finished with 12 shots, 14 ground balls and nine caused turnovers, while Tufts controlled both shots and draw controls.

At the Helm
CC enters conference play with a 4-3 overall record, including a perfect 3-0 mark at home. The Tigers are averaging 11.0 goals per game and are shooting .458 as a team while converting 50 percent of their free-position opportunities.

Junior Charlotte Iler leads the offense with 27 points on 21 goals and six assists, while junior Sofia Mancino has added 21 points (16 goals, five assists) and a team-best 16 draw controls. Maddie Jenks has totaled 13 points (10 goals, three assists), and freshman Elsa Greene has contributed eight goals in five appearances.

CC continues to get balanced production throughout the lineup, with Grace Bean (6 goals, 2 assists) and sophomore Riley Sterling (6 goals) adding scoring depth, while sophomore Grace Weber leads the team with seven assists.

Defensively, the Tigers have totaled 65 caused turnovers and 135 ground balls, led by junior Frances Hansot with 14 ground balls. In goal, Cassidy Schnaufer has made all seven starts, recording 54 saves on the season.

Scouting the Bennies
The College of St. Benedict enters WIAC play with a 2-3 overall record and is averaging 12.6 goals per game. The Bennies are led offensively by Sami Hackley (23 points) and Ava Mosley (20 points), while Rayna Malmberg and Lizzie Schrubbe have each added 13 points.

St. Benedict generates a high volume of offense, averaging 35.0 shots per game, and has totaled 61 draw controls through five games.

Scouting Hamline
Hamline enters the weekend with a 7-1 overall record and one of the most potent offenses CC will face this season, averaging 15.25 goals per game. The Pipers feature a balanced and explosive attack, led by Kayli Starkey (47 points, 33 assists) and Emma Collins (45 points, 27 goals). Lauren Moorhouse (39 points) and Reagan Zywicki (30 points) add additional scoring threats, while Ema Rehder has contributed 22 goals.

Hamline has dominated possession and tempo, totaling 118 draw controls and averaging 36.3 shots per game, while also holding opponents to just 6.88 goals per contest.
