Five Colorado College women's lacrosse players were named All-Region selections by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association, including four first-team selections.
Senior
Cassidy Schnaufer, juniors
Charlotte Iler and
Sofia Mancino, and freshman
Sophie Mineroff earned first-team recognition, while freshman Else Greene was named to the second-team.
Schnaufer nabbed her second consecutive first-team nod after leading the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with an 8.21 goals-against-average and is fifth with 99 saves this season. She is the school's career leader with 50 wins and scored the first goal of her career earlier this season vs. Augsburg.
Iler gets her third first-team selection after leading the Tigers with 64 goals and 99 points. Her 64 goals are the third-most in a season in program history, and the 99 points are the fourth-most in a season. With five goals and 11 points in CC's 20-7 victory over Rhodes in the second round of the NCAA Tournament last Sunday, she moved into second place on the program's career list in both categories with 183 goals and 264 points. Iler was named the WIAC Offensive Player of the Year for the second straight season.
Mancino earned her second straight first-team pick on the heels of a second consecutive All-WIAC first-team selection. Mancino leads the team with 64 draw controls and is second on the squad with 49 points (35g,14a).
Mineroff was stellar in the defensive end all season, leading the team with 37 ground balls and is second with 22 caused turnovers. The first-team All-WIAC selection caused a season-high four turnovers and tied her season-best with three ground balls in CC's come-from-behind, 15-14 overtime victory at #20 UChicago.
Greene produced an outstanding first season in Colorado Springs with 36 goals, second-most on the team, and five assists for 41 points. She is fourth on the team in points and scored a career-high five goals in the Tigers' victory over Rhodes.
"I am thrilled to see our young talent get recognized," head coach AJ Johnson said. "They have grown so much throughout the season. As for Charlotte, Sofia, Cassidy and Sophie, they are such a threat in their respective ends of the field and very well deserved."
The Tigers will face Williams College in the third round of the NCAA Division III Tournament on Saturday, May 16, in Medford, Mass., beginning at 1:30 p.m. (ET)
