Tigers fall to top-ranked Salisbury

Colorado College held top-ranked Salisbury University to its season-low total for goals, but the Tigers were unable to generate much in the offensive zone and dropped a 15-2 decision to the Sea Gulls on Tuesday afternoon at Kelly Park West in Merritt Island, Fla.

Hunter Sprole put CC on the board in the first quarter and the Tigers trailed just 3-1 after the first 15 minutes. Salisbury scored four unanswered goals in the second stanza to build a 7-1 halftime lead.

Kyle Wildnauer-Haigney scored his first goal of the season in the third quarter, but that was the last time Colorado College would get the ball past goaltender Johnny Rodriguez.

Junior attacker Mike Winters led the Sea Gulls with a game-high five goals.

Colorado College dropped to 2-4 on the year after falling to defending national champions in back-to-back games. Salisbury improved to 8-0 and extended its winning streak to 53 games overall and 85 consecutive regular-season games.

The Tigers will play Kean University on Thursday at Sylvan Lake Park in Sanford, Fla.
