SCAC names Rose Player of the Week

Nick Rose was named Player of the Week by the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference for the second time this season after leading Colorado College to victories over Austin College and Johnson & Wales University last weekend.
 
Rose averaged 32.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 steals per game as the Tigers improved to 9-4 overall and took sole possession of first place in the SCAC's Western Division with a 4-1 conference mark. He shot .656 from the floor (21-32) and 1.000 from the free-throw line (21-21) during the two games.
 
The junior guard scored a career-high 34 points and added five rebounds, two steals and an assist in Saturday's 93-89 victory over the Kangaroos.
 
Rose, a native of Lakewood, Colo., came back with 31 points, seven rebounds and three assists during Sunday's 84-75 victory over the Wildcats. He shot a career-high .667 from the floor and made all 10 of his free-throw attempts.
 
Rose leads the SCAC in scoring, averaging 22.2 points per game, as well as in free-throw percentage, at .920. He became the 33rd player in school history to eclipse the 700-point barrier, finishing the weekend No. 32 with 714 career points.
 
Colorado College plays host to Birmingham-Southern College and Rhodes College on Friday and Sunday, respectively.
