The calendar says it's December, but it must feel like Groundhog Day for the Colorado College women's basketball team.
The Tigers committed 21 turnovers and shot just 29-percent from the field while dropping a 56-43 decision at Millsaps College in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference game on Sunday afternoon.
It marks the second game in a row and the fifth time this season CC has committed more than 20 turnovers, and the third time it has shot less than 30-percent from the floor.
Colorado College trailed by only two points after Jenny Knapp scored 4:58 into the second half, but the Tigers missed nine of its next 11 shots and turned the ball over six times as the Majors used a 24-6 run to build a 20-point lead with 4:33 remaining in the game.
Becky Luetjen led the Tigers with 14 points, while Sydney Leichliter grabbed a season-high 12 rebounds.
CC finished with a 43-35 advantage on the glass, but that wasn't enough to make up the 21-8 deficit in turnovers.
Shante Morton had 14 points and seven points for Millsaps, which also got nine points from Janice Okeke, who made seven of nine free-throw attempts.
The Majors made 16 of 20 free throws, while the Tigers converted on eight of nine attempts.
CC dropped to 1-6 overall and 0-2 in the SCAC. Millsaps improved to 4-3 overall and 2-0 in league play.
Colorado College returns to action against Johnson & Wales University on Wednesday night.
