Taking advantage of a some cooperative weather for a change, Colorado College continued to build momentum for the SCAC championships with a number of personal-record and season-best performances at Saturday's CU Invitational in Boulder.
The Lady Tigers were particularly impressive in the 800 and 3,000 meters, combining for eight PRs in the two events.
Leading the charge in the 800 was
Brittney Moore, whose 2:26.5 clocking was good enough for 18th place in a field dominated by student athletes from Division I and II schools.
Nikki Steinsiek was 25th with a 2:28.66.
Mary Wang posted a 2:33.33 and
Chelsea Herzog a 2:34.45.
In the 3,000 meters,
Devin Nadar and
Rebecca Thompson claimed 21st and 22nd place, respectively, with PR clockings of 11:32.54 and 11:32.71. Not far behind, joining Nadar and Thompson under 12 minutes, were
Maggie Ruble with an 11:54.15 and
Louisa Tur with an 11:59.36.
Hannah Concannon provided another highlight for CC in the triple jump, where she turned in an effort of 34 feet, 9 1/2 inches. She and Moore, who turned in a season-best 34-6 1/4 in the event, finished 12th and 13th.
Hannah Wear posted a season-best 1:09.27 in the 400 meters.
