Cohen’s career day fuels victory over Sewanee

Toby Cohen recorded career highs of five goals and eight points as Colorado College clinched a share of the of the first-ever Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference title with a 20-7 victory over Sewanee on Saturday afternoon in a neutral-site game at Hendrix College. 

Hunter Sprole added a career-best five goals, while Moses Taylor set up five goals and scored one of his own. Carson Christman struck for three goals and added three assists to record his 11th multi-goal game of the season and his 11th with four or more points.

Brendan Haas made five saves during the first half to run his season record to 9-2. Max Pluss stopped four shots during the final 30 minutes.

It marked the ninth time in 12 contests the Tiger defense has held an opponent to seven or fewer goals in a game.  

Kyle Bishop won 12 of 18 faceoffs and grabbed a game-high nine ground balls. Michael McGeary and Buck McKenna grabbed six ground balls apiece.

The Tigers, who improved to 9-2 overall and 3-0 in the SCAC, can claim the title outright with a win against Hendrix on Sunday.
