Box Score Senior midfielder Taylor Paul struck for three goals and set up another score, but it was not enough to get Colorado College a seventh consecutive victory.

Roanoke College outscored CC 6-2 in the first quarter and cruised to an 18-8 victory on Wednesday afternoon.

The Tigers pulled to within three when sophomore attackman Jack McCormick scored 1:27 into the second quarter and trailed by only five after sophomore attackman Austin Davie found the net 4:15 into the second half.

That, however, was as close as Colorado College would get.

The Maroons re-gained control with five consecutive goals and built a 14-4 lead with 13:23 remaining in the contest.

Markers by Paul and senior midfielder Dylan Davie trimmed CC's deficit to eight with a little less than 10 minutes to go, and then the teams traded goals before Roanoke struck twice during the final 1:13.

Dylan Davie finished with two goals and an assist.

Junior goaltender Chase Murphy recorded 11 saves, the third time this season and 18th time in his career he finished in double figures.

Roanoke finished with a 41-28 advantage in ground balls and a 43-32 edge in total shots.

Colin Mackenzie led the Maroons with four goals and five points. Joey Dishaw added two goals and a pair of assists.

Goaltender Dylan Torrey stopped seven shots for Roanoke, which improved to 4-2.

Colorado College plays Babson College on Friday in Hoboken, N.J, at Stevens Institute of Technology.
