Box Score Chase Murphy made nine of his 13 saves in the first half and the offense erupted for nine goals during the final 30 minutes as the Colorado College men's lacrosse team improved to 2-0 with a 14-6 victory at Birmingham-Southern College on Sunday afternoon.
"Overall, it was a good weekend," head coach
Sean Woods said. "We're 2-0 after playing two solid teams. Our attack, defense and goalies are playing at a high level, but we'll need our young midfield to step up in the coming weeks."

Tyler Borko and Davie gave the Tigers a 9-5 cushion.
A man-up tally by Davis Thompson with 40 seconds to play in the third frame trimmed BSC's deficit to three, but that was the last shot that would evade Colorado College's goaltenders.
Davie added two more goals early in the fourth quarter, and the Tigers put the game away with scoring strikes from freshman attackmen
Drew Wiseman and Chris Bower, and sophomore
Robert Stern during a span of 1:18 just before the midway point of the quarter. Â
Murphy recorded double-digit saves for the second game in a row and the 23rd time in his career. He stopped all seven shots that he faced during the first quarter when CC jumped out to a 4-0 lead.
BSC fought back in the second frame, cutting its deficit in half on goals by Thompson and McHale Schneider.
Wiseman gave CC a 5-3 lead with 1:12 remaining before halftime, but the Panthers pulled to within a goal after Keenan Hudsmith and McHale Schneider scored during the final 1:05. Â
Davie paced the Tiger attack with four goals and five points. Brower also found the net four times, while Borko scored twice and set up two others.
Schneider led Birmingham-Southern with two goals and a pair of assists. Thompson also scored twice for the Panthers, who slipped to 1-1.
Colorado College finished with a 38-37 edge in total shots, while the Panthers had a 33-28 advantage in ground balls.
Senior defender/co-captain
Tim Jenkins, who picked up his first point of the season with an assist, snagged four ground balls and caused a pair of turnovers for CC.
BSC scored on two of their five man-up situations while the Tigers were 0-for-1.
Hank Harris made 12 saves for the Panthers before exiting with 4:30 to play.
Colorado College opens its nine-game home slate next Saturday against Division II Adams State University at Washburn Field.
