Borko Leads Tigers Past Southwestern

Box Score Freshman midfielder Tyler Borko led the Colorado College men's lacrosse team with four points on two goals and two assists to help the Tigers beat Southwestern University, 15-2, in Georgetown, Texas on Friday evening.
 
Junior attackman Austin Davie aided CC's offense with three points on a team-high three goals, while senior goalie Chase Murphy earned seven saves and six ground balls in nearly 49 minutes of action in goal to earn his eighth win of the season.
 
The Tigers outshot the Pirates 52-12, including 31 shots on goal. CC also dominated Southwestern in ground balls 41-26.
 
Jordan Riggs put up the first goal of the game to give Southwestern a 1-0 edge 1:13 into the first quarter. That goal proved to be the only lead the Pirates would earn throughout the game.
 
Freshman midfielder Drew Wiseman tied the game 4:06 later to help ignite a 4-1 run to end the first quarter with a goal by Davie with five seconds left on the clock.
 
The Tigers (8-4) held Southwestern scoreless during the final three quarters as CC scored 11 goals over the course of 45 minutes.
 
Southwestern, which dropped to 7-9 on the season, was led by Riggs and Kai Knight-Turcan with one goal apiece. Charlie Fisher earned the loss in goal with 12 saves.  
 
Colorado College will play the University of Dallas at 8 a.m. CT in Irving, Texas.
