Robbie Stern scored four goals and freshman goaltender
Andrew Harwood recorded a season-high 17 saves, but the Colorado College men's lacrosse team came up short in its upset bid against No. 4 Saint Lawrence University on Tuesday night.
The Saints caught fire late in the third period and pulled away for a 10-6 victory in the game that was played at the University of Tampa's Naimoli Field.
After Stern tied the score at 4-4 at the midway point of the third quarter, SLU took the lead for good on a marker from Jordan Dow.
A pair of goals from Jamie DeNicola gave Saint Lawrence a 7-4 advantage before Stern's third tally cut CC's deficit to 7-5 with 9:51 remaining in the contest.
The Saints added three more goals before Stern closed out the scoring after taking a feed from senior attackman
Austin Davie.
Colorado College went toe-to-toe with the Saints and never trailed during the first 30 minutes.

The goal held up until Brett McCormack knotted the score early in the second quarter, but back-to-back tallies by sophomore midfielder
Tom Haller gave CC a 3-1 lead with 8:16 to remaining in the first half.
However, SLU's Austin Nadeau and Connor Brimley scored just 47 seconds apart late in the half to send the teams to their locker rooms deadlocked at 3-3 after 30 minutes.

Alex Terry stopped 10 shots for St. Lawrence, which improved to 6-0.
SLU finished with s 35-24 advantage in ground balls and a 41-31 margin in total shots.
Colorado College completes its two-game Spring Break trip to Florida on Thursday when it faces off with Babson College at the Lake Highland Preparatory School in Orlando.
